OH OH YOU WILL BE SORRY! by Claire Kiechel

An immersive dark comedy about forgetting.

The Wedge @ The Hangar Theatre | July 2016 | The Hangar Theatre, Ithaca, NY

Five women gather for champagne brunch in a suburban living room. But, sorry, does anyone know what we're celebrating? Or whose house this is? Are we missing anything? Or anyone? A brand new dark comedy about what's known and what's unknowable among even the closest of friends.

"Oh Oh You Will Be Sorry is a darkly comic new play about the art of forgetting -- inspired by the differences between oppressed cultures of memory and privileged cultures of denial. Award-winning, 2016 Kilroys-list playwright Claire Kiechel and Hangar Directing Fellow Katie Lupica use humor, absurdism, and adventurous staging to tease out what lies beneath the supposed banality of suburban life, friendship, language, and interior decorating. The play poses a satirical premise that it then follows on a surprising, raucous, other-worldly, and delightfully unsettling journey unlike any you've taken before in a theatre."

Performed promenade-style (audience standing and free to change locations) in the unique indoor-outdoor venue of the Hangar Wedge tent.
